Diversion Programs

Certainly, maintaining a clean record is of paramount concern for our clients. In specific casess, there may be diversion programs which result in a dismissal of all charges. This option can be fully discussed at our meeting.

Other alternatives that may be available to the offender include availing oneself of the rights given under Proposition 36. The conditions of this arrangement between the court and the offender are determined on a case-by-case basis and will result in specific treatment for the offender and the possible dismissal of all charges after the treatment’s completion.

Drug Court is also a possibility in some court systems throughout California. By utilizing this alternative, the offender is able to participate in a program through the court involving random drug testing, daily counseling, weekly progress reports before a judge, and mandatory attendance at 12-step meetings. Successful completion of the program often involves dismissal of all related drug charges.
