Val Vista Creek is channeled into an underground culvert that flows under most of this park before emerging again further downstream near Foothill High School's football field. This park is used as a gathering place for 4th of July and Christmas celebrations. When the creek flows, it's a good fishing spot as well as hunting area for quail and other small game. The remnants of several old farm houses still stand in this area although most visitors ignore them or even walk right past without noticing them at all.
The park has some nice picnic areas with barbeque grills and plenty of benches, tables and shaded areas to hang out during summertime evenings. It also sports two playgrounds for children with slides, swings and climbing structures. One smaller slide designed for younger kids is located near the creek while the main one which has 2 slides (one blue plastic tube slide and another yellow one) is closer to Central Valley High School.
